# I’m pretty bad at fasting… #
Well, today is the first Tuesday of the month, and that means it is a day for fasting and prayer.
I got started off on the wrong foot completely!
This morning, as is our custom, my wife prepared some cereal for our children, and by the time I made it out to the living room, the marshmallows had been eaten from my daughter’s bowl leaving the sweet, crunchy Os left. Sleepy, and not thinking clearly, I grabbed the bowl and proceded to finish off the cereal she didn’t want.
On a roll, I went to the kitchen and poured my own bowl of cereal with milk and ate it up too—until the last few drops were left and I remembered that today was a fasting day.
Accidentally eating sugary cereals on a fasting day is a bad thing to do. It causes your metabolism to jump up real fast only to drop again later.
Today was the second day for our VBS program and once again, I forgot what I was doing, and during the snack time, ate a handful or two of Skittles before my wife tapped me on my shoulder and said, “Don’t snack too much.”
D’oh!
So with all the sugar in my system, and no real food, I’m a bit shaky and feel really strange!
