Into the Fire (Daniel)

On any given day, people who try to do the right thing face difficulty and opposition. Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s overt. Sometimes the hardship even comes from within us. Perhaps not surprisingly, the Bible repeatedly challenges God’s people to stand firm under trials, resist opposition, endure hardship, and over all to trust God that even in the worst of times, He’s still up to something good.

One of the greatest examples of that kind of living shows up in the book of Daniel when three friends get thrown into a blazing furnace because they chose to stand up for God’s honor.
