If the message of Jesus is as good as we think it is, if the message of Jesus is “Great News,” if it’s the greatest news in the world, why don’t more people believe it?
Paul asks that question about his own countrymen. His brother and sister Israelites did not universally respond to the message of Jesus, and Paul wants to know why. In Romans 9-11, Paul addresses a truth that is often controversial among churches today, but it’s central to understanding why some people believe and some people don’t.
